Our U11 and U13 Girls and Boys Hockey teams participated at the inaugural Kivukoni Hockey Tournament on Saturday,23rd February 2019 in Kilifi County.The tournament attracted several schools from Mombasa and Kilifi Counties. Our teams were at their best with a dribble here and a drag-flick there in a very well organised and competitive tournament.
The teams performances were as follows:
The U13 Girls team finished 3rd
The U13 Boys Team 2nd
The U11 teams were outstanding in every aspect of the game.
Omar Twahir stood out in his performance while playing for the U11 Boys Hockey team that finished 2nd Overall. The U11 Girls Team showed class and determination outwitting their opponents in this age group. Tehzeeb Khan, the captain of the team, lead by example by being voted the best player of the tournament in U11 Girls while her team took home the overall team title.
The teams now focus on the next hockey tournament next month which will be under the latest form of the game, the Hockey Fives.
